a soft winter post: weekend recap

this weekend felt full in the very best way.

sunday was especially good. we spent the morning with the sweet people at a church we’ve been attending, and the fellowship was so kind and genuine. i woke up a little earlier to bake cookies for them (we have a house rule: if you borrow someone’s empty container, you must return it filled with something good). blueberry muffin cookies it was, and they were very loved. that alone made my heart happy. we spent time in the word, reading in 1 kings and learning about the prophet elijah. the weather was absolutely gorgeous — one of those days that feels like a clear gift. such a blessed Lord’s day. we spent the rest of the daylight out in the forest, burning old cardboard and piles from clearing our land. always a bit chaotic, always fun… though i’ll admit, i was cold haha. we introduced little janet to the chickens (eeeeek!!) and she loved them. she also adores the snow. goodness, i love her. we all do. she is officially and forever a collard — so fluffy, like a tiny cloud with legs. of course, we ended the day with a quaint walk. there’s still so much snow here in kansas, though it’s finally starting to melt. later that night was filled with much laughter, kombucha sipping, chocolate, aged cheese, and long conversations about everything. i also tried overnight oats for the first time — we’ll see how they turn out in the morning <3

saturday was just as sweet. a very slow morning with the fire crackling, waking up a bit early to read in revelation and the psalms/proverbs. i’ve really been enjoying reading lately, and revelation in particular has been incredibly eye-opening. i’ll share more verses that have been resonating with me soon. we then spontaneously headed to kc. we mainly went for @providence pizza near westport — detroit style slices and a massive cheese pizza. so, so good. we chatted with the owner for a bit, then stopped by the owner's brother's bagel shop @luca bagels and grabbed a half dozen plain and french onion bagels. the cute shop was packed with almost a line out the door (definitely tiny for a fam of six!) & it felt like it could be in NY). unreal. we finished with a stop at the @better cheddar (my dream store) where we got two things of true aged cheese (my dad's fav thing!), sour cherry tea (very yummy), and trueeee smooth chocolate, and @billie’s grocery, where i grabbed a blueberry mint kombucha before heading back to silver lake.

just a little weekend recap. cozy days, full hearts, and lots to be thankful for! enjoy this post 🤍

enjoy these <3 **all photos are mine!**

many blessings & pray without ceasing,
