a happy list // volume 2

Hey, friends! I hope you’re having the best Monday. Here we go with another happy list for the month of August.

• long car rides leading to a spontaneous destination

• a good, sweaty workout

• driving my sibs to cross country practice!

• sending out big pen-pal letters

• almost finishing my novel

• having time to pray

• hopping into bed after a long day of working in the woods

• clearing land + driving in the forest in the side-by-side

• getting 40 new chicks for our chicken farm

• meeting new people this new school year

• new classes + teachers - I'm excited for forensic science

• funny texts from my bestie

• coffee runs with Dad & sisters

• traveling with Dad

• grateful for online school!

• cleaning my awfully dirty Hoka shoes!

• getting my brother a new 1997 Ford truck that I can drive, too! Eeeeee

• movies (of course!)

• iced vanilla matchas from Coffeehead

• outfits for church

• running to KC with Dad & sis (Billie's Grocery chicken sammie is so good! + a ginger lemon kombucha

• watching sibs start their XC season!

• early morning studies/wake up

• late night baking

• starting a junior girl's group chat for school!

• still some ice-cold Poppi sodas

• breezy evenings chats on the back deck

• cozy hoodies on chilly mornings

• inside jokes with siblings (mainly about their XC teammates hehe)

• journaling/praying before bed

• Dollar General runs with Mom (turns out DG is a fun little place)

• driving more!

• sliding into fresh, clean sheets

• the sound of gravel crunching under tires on a backroad

• when the stars are so clear you can see the Milky Way

• crossing off everything on your to-do list

• when your favorite snack is still in the pantry and you thought it was gone

• seeing your chickens do something hilarious

• Great Pyrenees snuggles

• writing a really good sentence in your novel and just staring at it like “yessss!"

• when your favorite pen still hasn’t run out of ink

• warm laundry fresh out of the dryer

• the sound of cicadas in the late summer

• when your journal pages fill up and look lived-in

• getting mail with your name on it that isn't junk mail!
